ELMA, N.Y. (Aug. 2, 2025) — The Elma Volunteer Fire Company earned two top awards at the Southwestern Association of Volunteer Firemen Convention, officials said.

The department was recognized as “Best Appearing Fire Company” for the second consecutive year and also received the “Best Appearing Fire Apparatus” award. Leaders credited the work of the company’s committee for the achievement.

Members and their families also took part in the convention’s Comic Parade on Saturday evening. The Forestville Fire Department managed the event.
