Explosions reported in Orchard Park field fire; no structures threatened

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (Aug. 25, 2025) — Firefighters responded Monday morning to reports of a fire with explosions near California Road in Orchard Park, where the blaze was later found burning in a field with no threat to nearby buildings.
Armor Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched at 7:46 a.m. for mutual aid to Windom Fire Company. Armor 2, with Assistant Chief Bienias and six firefighters, established a hydrant water source on South Benzing Drive and later supplied water to a Hillcrest engine.
Crews cleared the scene at 8:43 a.m., officials said.
