HALLOWELL, ME — AUGUST 13 — The Manchester Fire Department responded to a structure fire in Hallowell on Thursday afternoon and offered mutual-aid support during the fireground operations.

The call was made around 1 p.m.

Manchester firefighters were involved in the initial attack on the fire, water application, overhaul, and salvage efforts. This response was part of a mutual-aid operation that included fire departments from the surrounding area.

The department stated that the incident on August 13 was one of two structure fires handled by its personnel during the day.

Firefighters continued to provide coverage and support while managing multiple incidents.

The Manchester Fire Department is based at 37 Readfield Road and has a mutual-aid agreement with Hallowell.

A 2026 municipal planning document confirmed that Manchester has mutual-aid agreements with both Hallowell and Winthrop.
