SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT — August 20 — South Burlington Fire - IAFF Local 3671 was called to a vehicle fire on Dorset Street, close to Market Street, on Thursday afternoon.The South Burlington Fire Department was the first to arrive at the scene.

The department stated that the driver had already left the vehicle before the firefighters arrived.

Upon arrival, crews found the vehicle on fire and started putting out the flames.No one was injured in the incident.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., the northbound side of Dorset Street near the University Mall was closed to allow firefighters to work.

The fire was fully extinguished, and crews carried out cleanup activities, including dealing with hazardous materials from the damaged vehicle.The road was reopened about 20 minutes after the fire was controlled.

The fire department was based out of Station 1 at 575 Dorset Street and ensured continuous coverage for the community during the response.

South Burlington Fire and EMS operates two stations and provides both fire suppression and emergency medical services.
