Westport, CT - Westport firefighters responded to a reported vehicle fire at Minute Man Cleaners in the Saugatuck area of town, where an active fire was discovered in the engine compartment of a Mercedes parked in the lot.

The first-arriving Engine 4 crew quickly assessed the situation and found the vehicle with flames coming from the engine compartment. Firefighters deployed a handline and began attacking the fire, working swiftly to prevent the flames from spreading to other parts of the vehicle or nearby property.

On August 17, crews were able to bring the fire under control shortly after arriving at the scene. Their rapid response and focused fire attack helped contain the incident and limit the potential for further damage.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the vehicle fire. Firefighters remained on scene to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and the area was safe.
