I-95 Response: Westport Crews Assist at Three-Vehicle Crash

Westport, CT - Westport firefighters responded to a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 northbound at Exit 19, where the collision led to significant traffic delays and required a coordinated response from multiple emergency agencies.


The crash involved two pickup trucks and a BMW. One of the pickup trucks overturned and came to rest on its side, prompting firefighters and emergency personnel to assess the vehicles and those involved in the collision.


On August 15, Westport firefighters worked at the scene alongside Westport EMS, the Fairfield Fire Department and the Connecticut State Police. Emergency crews focused on assisting those involved in the crash, securing the area and managing the incident along the busy northbound interstate.


One occupant was transported by Westport EMS to a local hospital for evaluation. Officials did not provide further details about the occupant’s condition.


The crash also resulted in considerable traffic disruption on I-95 as emergency crews worked around the damaged vehicles. Drivers traveling through the area were urged to remain alert, follow directions from emergency personnel and exercise caution while passing the incident scene.


The incident serves as a reminder of the risks associated with traveling on major highways and the importance of remaining attentive and prepared for changing traffic conditions.
