KENDALL, NY — August 11 — The Kendall Fire Department received a call about a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Lakeshore Road and West Kendall Road around 7:54 p.m.The department was in the middle of conducting driver training in the district when the call came in, which allowed Kendall 69 and Assistant Chief Fox in Kendall 4 to arrive at the scene within about one minute.

Kendall 4 set up command at Lakeshore Road while the fire crews checked the vehicles and the injured individuals.

Initial reports suggested that there were patients involved and potentially a person trapped inside one of the cars.Additional ambulances were requested, but the firefighters assessed that extended efforts to free someone from the vehicles were not necessary.Three individuals were evaluated, with two being transported for further medical assessment and one choosing not to be taken to the hospital.

Fire units Kendall 34, Kendall 12, Kendall 81, and Kendall 2 responded to the scene. Hamlin Morton Walker provided support and later took over station coverage, while the Kendall fire crews stayed focused on their duties.
