ATKINSON, N.H. (Sept. 6, 2025) — A charity softball game turned into a reminder of the demands of public safety Saturday as Atkinson firefighters left the field to handle three simultaneous emergency calls.
One ambulance responded to a medical emergency while another was sent to a motor vehicle accident, officials said. A third call required immediate response, prompting members of the department’s call force to step in.
The Plaistow Fire Department provided mutual aid to cover the town as Atkinson’s resources were committed.
The charity game between Atkinson firefighters and AYSL Coaches resumed after the interruptions, with coaches taking first place on the scoreboard. Fire officials thanked Plaistow firefighters and community members for their patience and support.
