PLAINFIELD, N.H. (Aug. 18, 2025) — The Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department conducted training Monday night at Kimball Union Academy’s Bryant dormitory, practicing high-rise firefighting and rescue operations.

Firefighters stretched a pre-connected 1 ¾-inch hose line to the fifth floor to simulate attacking a room fire. Another crew raised the department’s 110-foot ladder to the top floor to prepare for a potential rescue.

Officials said the training was a valuable opportunity made possible with support from the academy’s facilities staff.
