Tuesday, 26 August 2025 – The Barrington Fire Department reported that crews had been working and monitoring a large brush fire that broke out on Sunday, 24 August.
The fire was controlled and contained on the first day, though mop-up operations continued over the following two days to ensure there were no flare-ups. Fire officials expressed gratitude to mutual aid departments and to local residents who assisted during the incident.
The department also reminded the community that a burn ban remained in effect for the Barrington area due to dry conditions. Residents were urged to refrain from burning brush or using fire rings, even if they already held seasonal permits.
