BERNARDSTON, Mass. (Monday, Sept. 1, 2025) — Firefighters in Bernardston quickly knocked down a vehicle fire Monday evening at the Interstate 91 southbound rest area, officials said.

The blaze was reported around 5 p.m. Responding units included Car 1, Engines 1, 2 and 3, along with Bernardston police and Massachusetts State Police.

Crews arrived to find the vehicle fully involved and brought the fire under control within minutes. No injuries were reported, according to the department.

The vehicle was removed from the scene by Byrne Towing, and all units cleared shortly after.
