Structure Fire on City Terrace in Newburgh Under Investigation

NEWBURGH, NY - Newburgh FD responded to a structure fire at 42 City Terrace on September 1st. Upon arrival, command found smoke and fire coming from the first floor. Command requested Engine 1 to be hired back and struck a second alarm, requesting mutual aid from West Point Ladder, Air National Guard, and Cronomer Valley FD engines to the scene. Firefighters used handlines to knock down the fire and checked inside for extension. Deputy Orange County Fire Coordinator 36-13, Empress EMS, and City of Newburgh PD were on scene. Cause and Origin was called in to investigate the cause of the fire. Good Will and Middlehope FD stood by at the Public Safety Building. The fire is currently under investigation.
