RAQUETTE LAKE, N.Y. (Friday, Aug. 22, 2025) — The Raquette Lake Fire Department held a tanker training session Friday with mutual aid partners from Inlet and Long Lake, officials said.

Crews practiced hauling water from the lake to a simulated fire scene. Tankers dumped into portable holding tanks, which were then pumped and sprayed into the woods to complete the exercise.

Fire officials said the training helps improve coordination and readiness for rural firefighting operations where hydrants are not available
