NIVERVILLE, N.Y. (Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025) — Niverville firefighters drilled this week on vehicle extrication techniques, working through remote-area scenarios before returning to the station for a live exercise, officials said.
Crews practiced multiple methods for removing trapped occupants, emphasizing coordination and teamwork.
Firefighter Luke Profera successfully completed all requirements and was officially placed on the department’s extrication team, the fire company announced.
Officials said joining the team requires at least 10 hours of training with hydraulic rescue tools, followed by a test and annual recertification.
