The Wolfeboro Fire-Rescue Department welcomed seventeen students, including five of its own members, as they began their Advanced EMT class today at the department’s training facility.

The program is sponsored by the New England EMS Institute (NEEMSI) with support from Huggins Hospital, providing students with the advanced education and hands-on training needed to deliver a higher level of prehospital emergency care.

Department officials noted that having members participate in the class strengthens Wolfeboro’s ability to respond to complex medical emergencies while also supporting regional EMS education.
