ALLENTOWN, N.Y. (Monday, Aug. 18, 2025) — Firefighters from Allentown and surrounding departments participated in a hands-on training drill Monday using a donated structure to simulate real-life fireground operations, officials said.
The training allowed members to sharpen key skills such as suppression tactics, search techniques and coordinated teamwork. Fire officials said opportunities to train with an acquired structure are rare but provide unmatched realism.
“All of this helps ensure we are better prepared to serve our communities,” the Allentown Volunteer Fire Company said in a statement, thanking the property owners and the Wellsville Fire Company for making the exercise possible.
