Jamestown Fire Department Conducts Shoreline Rescue at Beavertail State Park
Sunday, 24 August 2025, at 5:55 PM – The Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department (JFD) was alerted to Beavertail State Park for a report of an unresponsive male on the shoreline.
First-arriving companies immediately began search operations for both the caller and the patient. Drone 1 (D1) was deployed to assist with aerial support. Within a short time, crews located the patient approximately one mile north of Lot #1. Firefighters initiated advanced emergency medical care and extrication efforts.
Due to the patient’s location off a trail, UTV-1 was used to quickly move personnel and equipment into the scene. At the same time, Marine 1 launched from East Ferry and arrived as the patient was located. A decision was made to transport the patient via Marine 1, where EMS continued lifesaving efforts en route to Dutch Harbor, where a rescue crew was staged.
From Dutch Harbor, the patient was transported by rescue to a local hospital.
The JFD run card included: C5, C2, R1, L1, C3, D1, SS1/UTV1, and M1.
Department officials commended the coordinated efforts of all involved, noting the successful integration of land, air, and marine resources in the rescue.
