Thursday, 28 August 2025 – The Warren Fire Department gathered its apparatus at headquarters this morning to conduct testing on all Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBAs), ensuring compliance with NFPA 1981 standards and preparing for the transition to NFPA 1850.
SCBAs are a critical component of firefighter safety, allowing crews to operate in hazardous and smoke-filled environments during firefighting and rescue operations. Regular testing guarantees that each unit functions reliably when lives depend on it.
Officials emphasized that maintaining this equipment is part of the department’s ongoing commitment to protecting both firefighters and the community they serve.
