In the early hours of this morning, at approximately 3:12 a.m., Stations 61, 60, 62, and 51 (RIC) were dispatched to the 300 block of Linda Anne Avenue in the North Cape May section of Lower Township for a reported residential structure fire.

Chief 61 arrived to find light smoke showing from a two-story dwelling and confirmed that all occupants had safely evacuated. Engine 61’s crew stretched a 1¾-inch hand line and initiated an interior attack, quickly knocking down a small fire located in the garage.

Crews from Stations 60 and 62 assisted with ventilation and overhaul operations. Firefighters remained on scene for roughly 1 hour and 45 minutes before clearing.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Lower Township Bureau of Fire Safety in conjunction with the Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office.
