This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

At 18:09 last night, the department was dispatched to 5 Monmouth Road for a reported garage fire. Chief 830 arrived to find smoke showing and confirmed an active fire, transmitting a working fire.

Engine 833 stretched a 1 ¾" hand line, forced entry, and located an electrical panel on fire with minor extension into the surrounding walls. Crews quickly knocked down the flames and checked for further spread.

With the home’s electrical service compromised, operations paused until PSE&G secured power. The residence was then ventilated and turned over to the Glen Rock Police Department and Fire Prevention Bureau for investigation.

Thank you to our mutual aid partners for their support.
