Elizabeth, N.J. — August 7 — In the evening, the Elizabeth Fire Department was called to a reported structure fire at 251 West Jersey Street. When crews arrived, they discovered that fire was coming from the back of the house, so they launched a fire attack. While workers worked inside, a FAST unit was dispatched to the location to provide firefighter rescue coverage. Businesses quickly put out the fire and continued to inspect the building for risks and any leftover flames.

Command staff, the FAST team, and fire attack crews had to work together to coordinate the reaction. After the first knockdown, the Elizabeth Fire Department remained on the scene to assess the structure and make sure the conditions were safe for firefighters.
