Allamuchy, N.J. — July 28 — Units of the Allamuchy Fire Department arrived at the scene of a car accident on Interstate 80 heading west at mile marker 19.2. At the scene were Rescue 91-74, Assistant Chief 91, and Heavy Rescue 91-75. The reaction took place while storms passed across the region, adding to the worries of the emergency personnel working along the route. While working close to the road, firefighters had to deal with traffic risks and shifting weather conditions.
When driving through the area during the storms, the department advised drivers to use caution. The Allamuchy Fire Department served the neighborhood with fire and rescue services out of 284 Alphano Road. The information supplied for the response did not identify any mutual-aid departments. The event made clear how important it is for drivers to slow down and stay vigilant when approaching emergency personnel.
