Fast Knockdown by Interior Crews Limits Damage in Third-Floor Fire

Lambertville, NJ - City of Lambertville Fire District #1 units responded to a reported third-floor fire at a Buttonwood address, with smoke and flames visible from an upper window. Rescue Engine 17 arrived promptly and advanced a 1¾-inch hoseline to the third floor, initiating an interior attack while establishing a primary water supply. Engine 47 secured a secondary supply line from an additional hydrant.


Quint 46 and Quint 26 placed tarps to protect residents’ belongings, while Engine 53 checked the adjacent residence for extension, finding no fire involvement. The fire was quickly brought under control, and both residences were ventilated.


Personnel rotated through rehabilitation provided by 17 Rescue’s BLS crew. The incident was investigated by the Fire Marshal’s Office with assistance from the Lambertville Police Department. Mercer County Engine 30 provided city coverage during operations.
