Bernardston Crews Handle Fire Alarm, Motorcycle Crash in Minutes

On August 14, at 8:56 p.m., the Bernardston Fire Department responded to a commercial fire alarm at Dunkin on Church Street. When Car 1 and Engine 2 arrived, they discovered that burning food was the source of the alarm. Crews were cleared and the system was rebooted.


Crews were called to the 400 block of Greenfield Road at 9:05 p.m. due to a reported collision between a truck and a motorbike. Colrain Ambulance and Bernardston police responded with Car 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, and Rescue 1. At Avery Field, Tanker 1 created a landing zone.


The truck driver was assessed and found to be unharmed. With non-life-threatening injuries, the motorbike rider was transported by air to Baystate Medical Center. Police are looking into it.
