Attleboro Firefighters Extricate Driver From Serious West Street Crash

At at 8:35 a.m. on August 17, the Attleboro Fire Department arrived at West Street and Berwick Road in response to a vehicle collision involving a utility pole.
A 19-year-old man was trapped inside a severely damaged car that the crews discovered. While paramedics administered cutting-edge medical care, firefighters employed hydraulic rescue equipment to free the motorist.
The motorist was released by personnel after about 38 minutes. His injuries were thought to be life-threatening, so paramedics from the Attleboro Fire Department took him to Rhode Island Hospital.
Up until about 9:40 a.m., crews stayed on the scene. The crash is being looked into by the Attleboro Police Department.
