Colrain, MA. — July 18 — A suspected car fire prompted the Colrain Firefighters' Association to respond to Greenfield Road next to Morrell Metalsmith's. When Engine 1 arrived, the car was completely in the travel lane. Within minutes, the fire was put out by firefighters using Class A foam and a handline. While the car was still on the road, Engine 3 and Brush 4 helped with overhaul and traffic management.
Until the car was removed and the road was cleared, crews kept working. Firefighters were able to control the fire while keeping drivers safe thanks to the reaction. After the incident, no further damage or injuries were reported.
