Westfield, NJ - The Westfield Fire Department, alongside Police and the Rescue Squad, responded to a reported structure fire on Watchung Fork with smoke showing from the residence.

Crews arrived to find a 2.5-story single-family home with smoke conditions on the first and second divisions. All occupants had safely evacuated prior to entry. Firefighters located the fire in the kitchen ceiling with extension to the second floor and quickly brought it under control.

Salvage and overhaul operations were completed to check for further extension. A Springfield engine assisted at the scene, while Union County mutual aid companies provided town coverage. No injuries were reported. The fire was determined to be accidental, and the structure was evaluated by the Construction Official.
