Cato Firefighters Stabilized Home After Vehicle Crash

Cato, N.Y. — July 19 — In the Victory fire district, an automobile struck a house, prompting the Cato Fire Department to respond. There was only one person in the car, and the house was empty. There were no reported injuries. To support the porch and stop more damage, firefighters were sent in. Damaged portions of the roof and porch were removed with the assistance of a heavy-duty forklift.


In order to remove the damaged part, crews then made controlled cuts to the remaining framework. Firefighters took great care to secure the area and safeguard the property. After the damaged areas were stabilized and securely removed, the Cato Fire Department concluded their activities.
