Vacant Dwelling Fire in Livonia

LIVONIA, NY - On Friday, August 12th at 5:57 P.M., Town of Livonia fire departments (Livonia, Hemlock and Lakeville), along with East Avon as the FAST, responded to the report of smoke coming from the back of a house at 3180 Poplar Hill Road. Units arrived on location and a working fire was declared in a one-story vacant dwelling. Mutual aid was requested to the scene for tankers from Lima, Conesus, Geneseo and Mumford Fire Departments. A rescue from Mt. Morris was special called to fill air bottles. Livonia and Livingston County EMS provided firefighter rehab services. The blaze was brought under control in about 45 minutes. There were no injuries reported. Officials from Livingston County Emergency Management and the Livingston County Sheriff's Office were investigating the cause.
