Wernersville, PA. — August 3 — A residential structure fire was reported to the first block of Evans Avenue in Sinking Spring Boro by the Western Berks Fire Department and its automatic assistance partners. When Ladder 18 and Deputy 18-1 arrived, nothing was visible, so they started looking into it. After locating a functional kitchen fire, crews extended one handline to put it out. The origin of the fire was confined.

Western Berks Ambulance Association, Wyomissing Fire Department, Shillington Fire Company, Mohnton Fire Company, Kenhorst Volunteer Fire Company 69, and Township of Spring Fire Rescue Services were among the supporting organizations. Operating out of 111 Stitzer Ave., Western Berks offered mutual help and fire protection to neighboring municipalities.
