Wernersville, PA. — July 23 — A vehicle fire was reported in the 5000 block of Penn Avenue in South Heidelberg Township, prompting the Western Berks Fire Department to respond. When Deputy 18-1 arrived, they discovered a minivan with flames coming from the passenger and engine compartments. Firefighters worked to put out the fire and finish overhaul operations while Engine 18-1 stretched a bumper line.

Operating out of 111 Stitzer Ave. in Wernersville, the Western Berks Fire Department offered emergency response and fire protection services to the local community. Additionally, when mutual aid was required, the department collaborated with nearby authorities. Before leaving the area, crews finished overhauling and putting out the fire.
