Hamburg, PA. — July 21 — The Union Fire Company No. 1 of Hamburg was called to a car accident. As part of the emergency reaction, crews offered fire and rescue assistance. Operating out of 123 S. Fourth St., the business provided mutual aid to neighboring municipalities and served Windsor Township, Tilden Township, and Hamburg Boro. Rescue equipment for car collisions and other situations was maintained by the all-volunteer organization.

Since its founding in 1832, the business has supported emergency operations with ongoing training and equipment inspections. As the department's response responsibilities increased to include more car accident calls, its rescue capabilities grew.
