E Rutherford, NJ - The East Rutherford Fire Department Special Operations Team responded mutual aid to assist the Passaic Fire Department during an extensive search for two missing juveniles in the Passaic River.

Members operated for approximately 18 hours throughout the search, supporting coordinated operations along the river and surrounding shorelines. The team also utilized an unmanned aircraft system equipped with thermal imaging technology to assist aerial search efforts and improve situational awareness.

The operation involved numerous public safety agencies working together in a coordinated response. East Rutherford firefighters demonstrated continued dedication and professionalism throughout the difficult search effort, while the department extended its condolences to the families and loved ones of the two juveniles.
