Campton, NH - The Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue responded alongside area public safety agencies to a reported water rescue on the Pemigewasset River involving an injured tuber who had fallen on rocks and was unable to move while in the water.

Upon arrival, crews accessed the patient, initiated medical care, and coordinated a safe removal from the river. A rescue boat was deployed to bring the patient to shore, where they were transferred to an ambulance and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Additional mutual aid personnel supported the operation, contributing to an efficient and coordinated response. During the same timeframe, a separate cardiac arrest call occurred in the area and was handled by assisting agencies; however, that patient did not survive.

The incident highlights the importance of coordination, training, and the ability of multiple agencies to manage simultaneous emergencies while maintaining a strong focus on life safety.
