Litchfield Fire Rescue Provided Mutual Aid Coverage in Londonderry

Litchfield, NH — September 14 — Litchfield Fire Rescue Engine 2 was assigned to provide coverage at Londonderry Central Station while Londonderry firefighters were actively responding to a fire.

This station coverage enabled Londonderry firefighters to deploy their available units to the ongoing incident while still keeping an emergency response resource stationed at Central Station.

Litchfield Engine 2 remained on standby to assist with any additional emergencies in the Londonderry area as needed.

Engine 2 is a 2023 E-One Typhoon rescue pumper that includes a 1,000-gallon water tank, a pump capable of delivering 1,500 gallons per minute, 1,000 feet of four-inch supply hose, and several attack lines.

The apparatus also has rescue and medical equipment, allowing the crew to address a variety of emergency situations.

Litchfield Fire Rescue operates from its station located at 10 Liberty Way and provides services such as fire suppression, emergency medical care, rescue operations, and other emergency services.

The department handles approximately 900 emergencies each year, according to the town.

The station coverage highlighted the importance of mutual aid and automatic coverage agreements in ensuring that emergency resources remain available when a neighboring department is fully engaged in a working incident.
