Jamestown, R.I. — July 5 — A working structure fire at 50 Cedar Hill Drive in Jamestown was responded to by Canteen 2 of the Special Signal Fire Association/Providence Canteen, 100 Minnesota Ave., Warwick. For firefighters and other emergency personnel working at the incident, the unit offered rehabilitation treatment, refreshments, and logistical support. During prolonged fireground activities, canteen services assisted workers in staying hydrated and prepared.

The reaction showed how crucial it is for local fire departments to collaborate with specialist support units during major catastrophes.
