Chopmist Hill Crews Responded to Three-Vehicle MVA

North Scituate, RI — September 16 — Chopmist Hill Volunteer Fire Department personnel responded to a three-vehicle motor vehicle accident involving entrapment on Hartford Pike, between West Greenville Road and Elmdale Road.The call was received at 7:11 a.m., and Station 60, Station 20, and Rescue 1 were dispatched.Engine 62, Special Hazards 1, and Rescue 1 also responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, Rescue 1 reported that one vehicle had overturned onto its side, with an occupant still trapped inside.
Additional rescue resources were requested, and Squad 3, Rescue 2, and Johnston Rescue 2 were sent to assist.
Firefighters worked with the responding units to secure the vehicles and create access for the trapped individual.
A door and part of the A-pillar were removed to allow for proper extrication.Crews also took steps to contain any leaking vehicle fluids.Engine 62 deployed a hand line as a precaution and remained on site until the vehicles were fully removed.
Several patients were taken to nearby hospitals.
The exact number and severity of injuries were not disclosed.Local media confirmed the three-vehicle collision and the extrication efforts.
