Severe Storm Leaves Roads Blocked by Debris in Camden

Camden, Maine — July 16 — Camden Fire & Rescue responded to multiple roadway hazards after a fast-moving severe thunderstorm brought strong winds and heavy rain to the area shortly after 2 p.m.

Firefighters responded to downed trees, branches and wires, working with other local agencies to secure affected areas and clear hazards. High Street, also known as Route 1, was among the roads temporarily closed after a tree fell across the roadway.

Crews continued cleanup operations as conditions improved, with motorists urged to use caution around emergency personnel, downed wires and remaining storm debris.
