Warwick, R.I. — July 4 — Canteen 1 was sent to a working structure fire at 190 Harrison Ave. in Warwick by the Special Signal Fire Association/Providence Canteen, located at 100 Minnesota Ave., Warwick, RI 02888. During suppression and overhaul operations, firefighters received hydration, refreshments, and assistance from the rehabilitation unit. While mutual aid partners provided assistance as needed, Warwick Fire Department personnel fought to contain the fire.

To assist firemen in recuperating between tasks and preserving operational preparedness, canteen staff stayed on the scene. The reaction demonstrated how important rehabilitation services are for maintaining emergency operations during protracted disasters and promoting firefighter safety.
