PORTSMOUTH, RI — August 20, 2026 — When firemen from the Portsmouth Fire Department arrived at a car fire on Pine Street, they discovered a vehicle that was heavily involved in the fire.

When firefighters arrived on the site, they rapidly put out the fire. The announcement from the Portsmouth Rhode Island Firefighters stated that the fire did not spread to adjacent buildings.

There were no reported injuries.

Firefighters kept the fire from spreading to nearby buildings, so the incident was contained to the car.
