Mutual Aid Response Supported Dennysville Church Fire

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Perry, ME — July 19 — A reported structure fire at a church on King Street prompted the Perry Volunteer Fire Department, U.S. Route 1, to react on a mutual aid assignment to support the Dennysville Fire Department. As teams sought to contain the fire, firefighters assisted with suppression efforts. The building was still standing after the fire was put out. There were no reported injuries.

During larger situations, adjacent departments can share personnel, equipment, and apparatus through mutual aid responses, which helps maintain sufficient staffing and resources on the fireground. Perry workers cleaned the area and went back to work when operations were over, staying on hand for any more emergency calls in the vicinity.
