NEWBURGH, NY – On July 31st, Winona Lake and Orange Lake Fire Departments responded to Interstate 87 (New York State Thruway) at mile marker 62 southbound for a vehicle off the roadway. New York State Police and Town of Newburgh EMS were on scene. Firefighters disconnected the vehicle's battery. The driver was transported by Town of Newburgh EMS to Montefiore-St. Luke’s Hospital. New York State Police are investigating the cause.
