MUNHALL, PA. — July 15 — The Munhall Volunteer Fire Company No. 5, located at 1817 Whitaker Way, responded to two structural fire occurrences. Under the mutual aid system in the area, Engine 5 and Squad 5 initially responded to a second-alarm house fire on Jones Avenue in North Braddock. Following their completion of operations there, the units vacated the area and responded to a first-alarm apartment fire in Munhall's 2000 block of West Street, where Tower 5 also provided assistance.
At both occurrences, firefighters assisted with overhaul operations and suppression attempts, demonstrating the importance of coordinated mutual aid and sustaining emergency response coverage throughout nearby Allegheny County municipalities.
