OAKDALE, PA. — July 13 — At the Blackstone housing complex, where land-clearing workers were getting ready for a new stage of construction, the North Fayette Township VFD, 7678 Steubenville Pike, responded to a reported wood chipper fire. According to officials, the tracked wood chipper's hydraulic line burst, allowing hydraulic fluid to come into touch with the hot motor and catch fire.

Crews had just finished another assignment, thus more mutual aid resources were needed to support the response. The equipment fire was swiftly stopped by firefighters, preventing it from spreading to surrounding plants and building supplies. Crews stayed on the scene until the area was deemed safe, and no injuries were recorded.
