Smithtown, N.Y. — July 5 — Smithtown Fire Rescue Communications dispatched the Smithtown Fire Department, located at 100 Elm Ave., Smithtown, NY 11787, to address a reported structure fire near Cornell Avenue and Wildwood Lane. When first responders arrived, they discovered an electrical fire that had spread up a house's exterior and into the third-floor soffit. After a working fire was reported, more units arrived to aid in the suppression process.

Firefighters swiftly put out the fire, finished overhaul procedures, and verified that there was no more expansion. Mutual assistance departments offered standby coverage and helped with other emergency calls throughout the city while crews were on the scene for over 75 minutes.
