FREEPORT, NY - On July 1st, Atlantic Beach Rescue was sent to help the Freeport Fire Department at a Home Depot Store for a reported chemical spill. First-arriving EMS personnel assessed and treated 13 people with minor injuries. The Nassau County Office of the Fire Marshal's hazardous materials teams were assisted by Atlantic Beach Rescue personnel, who also offered medical monitoring. While teams worked on scene, additional members maintained headquarters to keep the hamlet covered for emergencies.
