WEST LAFAYETTE, OH - On February 2, 2020, the West Lafayette FD was paged out to a working house fire near S.R. 36 and S.R. 751. Upon arrival, flames could be seen in the area of a wood burner chimney. After the fire knockdown extensive overhaul was required to get to all of the hot spots. The chimney was pulled down for safety reasons and wall coverings removed for inspection. The home was heavily damaged and probably a total loss. A fire in the wood burner was the probable cause.
Assisting on scene were fire units from Bakersville FD, Three Rivers FD, and Newcomerstown FD. Also assisting was the Coshocton County EMS, Coshocton County SO, and the Salvation Army Disaster Services.
