An almost 20,000 square foot one story sub divided warehouse  was damaged in a two alarm fire on July 16^th.

Fire units were dispatched to 140 Furler St. at 8:00 PM. First due units reported fire appears through the roof in the rear. A second alarm was immediately transmitted. Crews opened up an overhead door and a standard door on the “B” side and advanced a line inside. Totowa and West Paterson trucks laddered the roof and made several vents. 

The inside crew was withdrawn as merchandise was falling on them. The line was repositioned to the “C” side where heavy black smoke was venting from a doorway and another roll-up door was cut. The line was advanced and most of the flames were knocked down at floor level, but the fire was traveling along the roof membrane and insulation in the truss roof. The smoke condition decreased as crews worked on the flames in the roof. Mutual aid companies began to be released at about 9:30. No serious injuries were reported. Units from Little Falls, West Paterson. Passaic, Wayne, and Paterson assisted at the scene.
