Suspicious Fire in New London

At 10:33 pm on Wednesday, 7/20/2022 the New London Fire Department was dispatched to 50 Sherman Street for a house fire. While responding, Battalion 2 asked for the working fire assignment to be filled out adding Waterford Truck 15 and the Sub Base FAST.

Battalion 2 and Engine 3 arrived at 10:36 with smoke showing from a 2 story wood frame residence. The Battalion quickly located a victim in the alley with traumatic injuries and requested the police and a paramedic. Engine 3 stretched an 1.75” hose line inside while Engine 4 got the water supply. Truck 2 flew their aerial to the alpha/delta corner.

At 10:43 command reported a female has been removed in cardiac arrest and was being treated by A-100. A second victim was removed at 10:45. Command transmitted the second alarm which added Poquonnock Bridge Truck 35, a Waterford Ambulance & a Groton Ambulance. The New London Fire Marshal’s Office and Police Department are investigating.
