Jamestown, R.I. — July 17 — The Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported fire at a residence on Coulter Drive around noon, where firefighters found flames involving rooftop solar panels.
Crews worked to extinguish the fire, which was contained to the solar panels and did not spread to the roof, according to the department. Firefighters used Jamestown’s aerial ladder while operating at the residence.
No injuries were reported. The Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by mutual-aid companies during the response.
